Gold To GO ATM machine

Invented by German entrepreneur, Thomas Geisler, Gold To Go is an ATM, covered with a thin layer of gold, that dispenses 320 gold items, from small gold bars to customized coins. First tested in 2009, in Germany, the Gold To Go ATM is now set up in the Emirates Palace Hotel, in Abu-Dhabi, where the ceilings are coated in gold.
“All the gold is imported from Germany, and soon we will have a customized gold bar with a print of the Emirates Palace logo, which will be a nice souvenir for guests to take home,” said Thomas Geisler. So far his invention has proved a hit, with one of the hotel guests buying one of each gold items the ATM dispenses. Right now it only accepts local currency, but modifications for credit cards will soon be made.

Wat Pa Maha Kaew Temple is the only temple in the world build out of glass bottles and bottle caps. It all began in 1984 when the Buddhist monks started gathering bottles to decorate their shelters. The lovely bottle art-work they created attracted more and more visitors that began donating bottles, until there were enough to build an entire building.

Translated as “Temple of Million Bottles” Wat Pa Maha Kaew is located in Siasaket province, about 370 miles northeast of Thailand’s capital city, Bangkok. There are approximately 1,5 million glass bottles incorporated in the temple complex, that includes glass shelters, crematorium and even glass toilets.

The Chinese artist Lin Na, uses leaves as materials for her sculptures. The process to make a leaf sculpture usually involves leaf choosing, washing, air-drying and etching. Here are some photos on how she etches the Shanghai Expo’s logo on a leaf and the finished products.
